INTERVIEW WITH PRODUCERS OF RUTH, A DOCUMENTARY DONE IN MANDARIN

Sound is critical and important to the overall impact of any piece of video. It separates the professional from the mediocre.
The audio sweetening process usually starts after the completion of the video and effects. At this point, the audio engineer gets to work to sweeten and make the audio sound the best possible.
In this project, we started by cleaning up the original audio that was recorded. We listened for noises, clicks, hum that existed and took them out very deftly.

After having this done, we moved on to equalize and normalize levels right through the video, making sure the edits were clean and sharp. We then started looking for the details...the footsteps..whether it was on sand, dirt or rocky surfaces...and added them keeping the timing and the sync, also the distance.

This project had many graphics and we added abstract sound effects to enhance the movement of the graphics and to get an overall feel of the story line.

Listen to this interview with William and Helen Chan. It was a blessing working with them on this project.
